Wind Chimes

These were some wind chimes I passed on my drift and decided to record.  They were hanging on by someone's front door so I couldn't really walk up to them so I stood on the sidewalk and recorded them holding the microphones as far apart from each other as I could while facing the wind chimes.  Here is the audio.

Birds making joyful noises

These were some birds chirping that i recorded.  I was surprised I actually ran into any in February but I recorded it nonetheless. Unfortunately they were in the top of some trees so i really couldn't get too close so i held the microphones as far apart from each other as i could and recorded the birds to the best of my ability.  Here they are.

Elevator

This was an elevator i rode and got some pretty interesting sounds from. I held one mic near the buttons wear the beeping seemed to be coming from, and the other a little bit away to pick up the more atmospheric sounds.  Here it is.

Music Building Piano

I got a sound bite of some interesting piano playing in the music building on campus.  Unfortunately I didn't know who was playing, so I stood outside the door and recorded the piano, instead of inside the practice room.  Here it is.

Manhole

This was a manhole with running water moving around inside of it.  I don't know if this recording is against protocol because of the water element, but I thought it had a cool metallic kind of tone to it.  Not just running water.  To record this sound I placed one mic next to the holes through the covering and the other mic held up a little away from the manhole.  Here is the sound.

Drift 1 Strategy

The strategy I chose for my Drift was the algorithmic walk.  Particularly the zig-zag walk.   It wasn't a perfect zig-zag per se, but I followed the route as well as i could.  If i couldn't make a particular turn I would just take the next one. It turned out alright.
